Peter has oversight over the Hospital’s Departments of Marketing and Public Relations; Government Affairs, Community Relations & Advocacy; and Diversity and Inclusion – in addition to supporting the President and CEO on external facing matters. In this role, he’s supports the development and implementation of the Hospital’s annual communications, health policy and civic engagement strategy for CHOP operations throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and beyond.
Peter was hired as Director, Government Affairs, Community Relations & Advocacy in 2007. Prior to joining CHOP, he served as an aide in the U.S. Senate before joining a Washington, DC based public affairs firm specializing in healthcare advocacy. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from The Pennsylvania State University and also holds a Master of Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
He serves as Vice-Chair of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia and the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA and University City District. Peter also served on the Health Transition Review Team for Pennsylvania Governor-elect Tom Wolf.
