Andi Fristedt is the Deputy Health Policy Director for Ranking Member Patty Murray on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) and the Senator’s principle advisor on public health policy. She first came to the HELP Committee as staff to then-Chairman Senator Tom Harkin in 2011. Prior to joining the Committee staff, Andi worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Washington Office, where her work focused largely on HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis. Previously, Andi worked as a Global Health Fellow at the World Health Organization's Reproductive Health and Research Department in Geneva, Switzerland and in Oregon state politics, serving as campaign manager and later Chief of Staff to an Oregon State Representative. She has a Master's in Public Affairs with an emphasis on health and health policy from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and a BA in Family and Human Services from the University of Oregon.
