Julie Sonier is Deputy Director of the State Health Access Data Assistance Center (SHADAC) at the University of Minnesota. She has 15 years of experience in the development and implementation of state-level health reforms, with a particular focus on collecting and analyzing data related to health care access, cost, and quality to understand state-level trends and to inform policy decisions. Her current projects include state-level modeling to project the impacts of the policy changes on insurance coverage, assisting states in developing plans for monitoring the impacts of health reforms over time, and providing technical assistance to states in implementing the Affordable Care Act. Prior to joining SHADAC in 2010, Ms. Sonier served as director of the Health Economics Program at the Minnesota Department of Health. Ms. Sonier holds a master's degree in public affairs with a concentration in economics from Princeton University and a B.A. in economics from Amherst College.
