Xavier Morales, PhD

Dr. Morales, a longtime advocate for health equity and environmental justice, has worked to enable community-led initiatives to address health equity and also to promote multi-sector approaches to prevent violence. Taking an expansive view of what constitutes health, he has diligently worked to help enable opportunities for youth development, workforce development, college access, supporting prisoner reentry, alternatives to detention, early childhood development, affordable housing and mentoring programming. Dr. Morales, originally from Sanger, California, studied Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley and City and Regional Planning at Cornell University.
