Lung cancer training and tools for primary care providers

Primary Care Providers (PCPs) play an important role in lung cancer care – from prevention to screening, treatment navigation and survivorship support.

The LuCa (Lung Cancer) National Training Network is the source for free tools and technical assistance to help primary care providers improve their care of patients at risk for, or diagnosed with lung cancer. LuCa provides web-based training, practice tools, and technical assistance for PCPs, and other health care professionals on lung cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and survivorship. LuCa has resources for medical professional organizations, health systems, health insurers, state and metro coalitions, and others seeking to reach PCPs toward improving lung cancer care.

LuCa offers a free interactive CME/CE online course “Lung Cancer and the Primary Care Provider” with approximately 2.5 continuing education credit hours total, depending on the provider discipline. This comprehensive online course covers several topics such as lung cancer screening, shared decision making, treatment advances, patient follow-up, and survivorship.
