National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse
As the Executive Director of the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse (NCAPDA), April leads the organization’s efforts to prevent prescription drug related addiction and overdose deaths through community education, policy change and legislation advocacy at the local, state and federal levels. She also leads the Contra Costa County MEDS Coalition and is an active member of several other drug abuse prevention related coalitions and workgroups. April has been the recipient of multiple recognition awards for her efforts in reducing prescription drug abuse. She retired after working for 30 years in the telecommunications industry. April holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Masters Certificate in Project Management.
