Michael Lewis Ellsworth serves as the Federal Liaison, Review Officer, and Policy Counsel with the Washington State Department of Health’s Office of Policy and Legislative Relations. Mr. Ellsworth advises the Washington’s Secretary of Health on federal legal issues and advocates for public health priorities with Washington’s federal congressional delegation. Mr. Ellsworth presides over administrative court decisions, including review of certificate of need decisions. Mr. Ellsworth collaborates to develop countless laws and regulations in support of the public’s health. He received his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law, M.P.A. from The Evergreen College, and B.A. from Antioch College. He began his career in public service as a law clerk with the King County Bar Association advocating for indigent clients housing justice.
