Preparedness: Where Adaptive Leadership Really Matters

This Masterclass will provide an opportunity for individuals throughout the country to learn from leaders in the field of disaster preparedness about best practices in responding to the needs of their communities. Panelists will discuss their local community preparedness and response work, with an emphasis on how adaptive leadership practices have supported their efforts. Attendees will be exposed to some of the best practices in public health leadership used by teams who have been part of the Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health (LAPH) program over the last 13 years. Panelists will provide practical examples of how they have applied current leadership skills and concepts in their work across the years, sharing insights gained as well as opportunities, tools, and ideas applicable to all.

The session will be moderated by PHI Center for Health Leadership & Impact Senior Advisor Carmen Rita Nevarez and feature LAPH alumni team representatives Caroline Persson and Bill Benerman (Denver RETC Team, NLAPH Cohort 5 – 2017), and John Dwyer (Champaign County Volunteer Team, NLAPH Cohort 2 - 2013).

This Web Forum is sponsored by the Leadership Academy for the Public's Health, a program of PHI Center for Health Leadership & Impact and produced by Dialogue4Health.
