Jermaine J. Williams is a nationally recognized Peer Recovery Specialist, filmmaker, and mental health professional based in Pensacola, Florida. With over a decade of lived recovery experience, he has dedicated his career to advancing compassionate, person-centered approaches to mental health and substance use care that strengthen families and communities.
Jermaine is the recipient of the 2026 National Peer Specialist of the Year Award from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. He is also an award-winning filmmaker whose work explores recovery, mental health, and faith, and has been used to challenge stigma and inspire hope at the individual and community level.
He currently serves as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist and Mental Health First Aid Instructor with Cypress Resilience Project, and is a candidate for Mayor of Pensacola, bringing his lived experience and professional background into the public arena to build stronger, healthier, and more self-sufficient communities.
