Sarah has worked with the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians since 2001, focusing on Tribal data integration, water quality, and pollution management. As Environmental Director for the Big Valley EPA, she co-developed the Clear Lake Cyanotoxin Monitoring Program and co-chairs the California Cyanobacteria Harmful Algal Bloom Network. As part of the Cal-WATCH team along with Tracking California, SWRCB and OEHHA, their research on drinking water vulnerabilities has been reported in CDC’s MMWR and published in AWWA Water Science. Sarah collaborates with federal, state, and Tribal agencies to advance water policies, secures environmental grants, and leads initiatives to protect Clear Lake’s ecosystem, including stormwater management, habitat restoration, and accessible water quality data.
