Veronica Johnson, MPH, CHES

Veronica Johnson, MPH, CHES®, is a Program Coordinator for PHI Center for Health Leadership and Impact. Her work focuses on supporting the California Overdose Prevention Network (COPN) through coordinating operations for the statewide learning network and accelerator cohort program.
Most recently she worked as public health educator, co-lead for the San Benito County Opioid Task Force (SBCOTF) and Team Lead for the Central Coast Regional Accelerator Team for Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties.
In 2018, Veronica graduated from CSU Stanislaus with a BA in Kinesiology with a health promotion emphasis, followed by a year of national service as an AmeriCorps VISTA, and transitioned into a full-time role within the San Benito County Public Health Department continuing her work on the SBCOTF. In August 2021, she graduated with her Master of Public Health with a focus on community and public health practice and attained a certification as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
Veronica has a passion for work within the area of substance use prevention, health equity, systems change, and health messaging. She is also a volunteer crisis counselor for the Crisis Text Line. Outside of work she is a softball team “god mother”, enjoys hiking, collecting hot sauces and plants, and creating memories with family and friends.
